This is my collection of Lizbeth Tatting Thread. I'm excited because I just got five new ones on my last trip to my local craft store. I have already used the two on the bottom and the variegated one on the left that has pink and green. Those are the ones I got a while back. I can't wait to get started on some projects I have in mind using the new colors. There are so many colors I still want they have a lot of beautiful colors. I know I should probably use these before thinking about buying more but I can't help it I'm addicted to buying yarn and thread. I'll make sure and post any projects I make using these. The problem now is choosing which one to use first!

Buttons!
I went on a button shopping spree. There was a sale Buy One Get One Free on all buttons at my local craft store so I bought all these buttons above. They were all between one and three dollars plus I used a 20% off your total purchase coupon that included sale items. I love a good deal on craft supplies because having all these hobbies and buying supplies for all of them really adds up. These are mostly for some knitted ipod and camera cases I will post about soon. I finished knitting them but still have to sew them up so I will show them later.

Works in Progress: Entrelac Crochet Blanket
I'm working on this entrelac crochet blanket to the right using the Loops & Threads Snuggly Wuggly sold at Michaels. I have always loved the way this pattern works. I got started last night and just couldn't stop doing it. It's very quick to crochet. There are two ways to do it. The first is by doing rows and working your way up like you would on any regular blanket. The second way is the one shown which is by working in the round. At least that's what I call it since you are working in rows around the blanket. Since I am using only two colors then there is no difference in the final product.

Works in Progress: Tatted Doily
My first tatted doily! I'm loving it so far. I'm using Lizbeth Tatting Thread color 124 Spring Garden. I am needle tatting it because its what I am better at. I'm working on my fourth row. One thing that I really liked was how the rows only join in certain spots to the row below very different from crocheting which you join all the time. I am about half way done so hopefully I will get this done very soon. It's hard to see it clearly but I will make sure and show the finished item. I was just to excited to show it I couldn't wait until I finished it.

Works in Progress: Flower Square Blanket
I had seen a blanket similar to this in a leaflet from Leisure Arts and really liked it but didn't buy it at the time. After looking through youtube I found a video where they showed how to do this one. Above is a picture of how much I have done so far. I need to sew them still but I have been to lazy. Below is a closer look at the two parts of the blanket. You can do a two color blanket that will also look very nice. This blanket is made using Bernat Softee Baby in green even though it doesn't look very green in the picture. It does take some time because you have to do all the squares and then sew them but I definitly think its worth it because it does turn out beautiful.

Cotton Yarn
I went shopping yesterday and got some cotton yarn! They had the Bernat Handicrafter brand which isn't around all the time so I got a few of those. They are $8.99 each so I made sure to use coupons since I went with two other people. They had a lot to choose from and I did want they all but I got these for now. I also got a blue one which isn't shown here. I already started using that one and have made about six dishcloths which I will show in a later post. I also got a couple balls of I love this Cotton yarn sold only at Hobby Lobby since they were on sale. I love the colors and it feels so soft. Both of these are softer than the Sugar n' Cream yarn. I started knitting baby bibs with the yarn below and will also have a post for those.

Knitted Baby Shoes
More baby shoes! I love baby shoes because they are made in such a sort amount of time. Here I have a couple I have been working on. They are all for a baby boy except for the bottom right one which has some pink in it. All of these can be made for girls by changing the color. I used Bernat Softee baby yarn on all except the top middle green ones which are made with Caron Simply Soft. The stitches I used were garter, stockinette, moss, and 1x1 rib. Below is a closer look at them.
These are made with basic stockinette booties with a moss stitch border. They are a green color even though the picture doesn't really show it too well. I really like this type of boot because it has all the parts clearly defined. You start from the top and work your way to the bottom. The only thing about these booties that I don't like is that you have to pick up stitches along the side of the center which takes up more time. Other than that I really like how they turn out.
I love this style of shoe. Its definitely the one I like to make the most and this color combination I really liked. I like how its so simple to make and really quick. Much quicker than the one above. You can make these a solid color but I prefer using two. They are supposed to be similar to sneakers so I still need to add shoe laces as a finishing touch. I have only done these in garter stitch but I'm thinking about trying other stitches. So you will probably see more of these soon.
These I'm not too sure whether I really like them or not. They are similar to the ones above but since I made them using the stockinette stitch you can see the decreases more clearly than above so its important to be careful and make sure they look right. Since I knit in an uncommon way its a little harder to do increases and decreases but I managed to make it look somewhat right. I think I am going to keep trying these to see if making them another way helps them look better. Even though I don't dislike them completely I just think they need a little something to be perfect.
This is the other form of making the basic booties. This style was the first I learned to make because its the type my mother taught me how to do. This form is made from the bottom up. Its much simpler than the one at the top because you don't have to pick up stitches. On these I used three different stitches: stockinette for the sides, garter for the center, and rib 1x1 for the top. The only difference you can notice is the bottom. The one at the top has a square bottom and these have an oval bottom.
This is the newest form of making a baby shoe that I learned. By far its the easiest form of making baby shoes that I have learned. I used garter stitch and I really like how they look. I still need to add something to add more detail. I did add a crochet border on top to give it a more finished look.

Works in Progress: Crochet Bookmark
In one of my post from a while back I showed my stash of Aunt Lydia's size 10 crochet thread. I have 24 balls of different colors and didn't really have any specific projects to use them on. So I thought about making bookmarks with them since I had so many colors to choose from. This one here is my first. I was looking through the leafet 111 Easy Edgings by Leisure Arts with crochet edgings in it and found one similar to this. All I added was a border of double treble crochet on the bottom and sides. I'm thinking about doing a row of single crochet over the border to even it out a little. I love this green color. I already have a couple other patterns I like so more bookmarkss are coming!

Knitted Dishcloths
I never really thought about making dishcloths before but after reading online several opinions about them I decided to give them a try and now I can't stop making them. I bought a cone of Sugar' n Cream in white. Its 100% cotton and from the research I did its perfect for dishcloths and its what most people like to use. As of right now I made six out of the cone of about 700 yards. The small ones have 100 and some yards depending on if its solid or variegated. I like making these because like most people say its a great way to try out new stitches. The ones I did on these six are not complicated but I hadn't tried them before. I got them from the book 400 Knitting Stitches by Potter Craft. The ones I made are about 7.5 inches wide by 7.5 inches high.

Crochet Little Hats
These are two little crochet hats I have been working on. They can be used a souvenirs for all kinds of different occasions. They still need finishing touches but I think they turned out good. They are three inches across. I personally like the green one better. I used Aunt Lydia's Crochet thread size 10. They were easy to do and very fast to make. I found patterns for these online but have since lost the link so if I want to make more I am going to have to look for it again or just try to make it out of the hats I have. I want to make some more patterns so I will be sure to post more if I find anymore worth making.
