Here are two Punch Needle projects I did a while back of Tweety. I have a lot more patterns of this character that I haven't gotten around to yet so there is more to come. I am planning on making these pillow cases. The one on the left was actually my very first punch needle project. The orange as you can see is way off it was too bright and the eyes look really weird. I like the one on the right with the flowers best I think I got all the colors right or at least close enough. You can definitely see the improvement from when I started to now well maybe not so much in the pictures.

Update: Crochet Baby Dress
Okay so this is an update on the pink crochet baby dress I started at the beginning of the month which I talked about here. I still need the sleeves on both this and the other one and finishing touches like ribbon but its mostly done. This one here I did with Bernat Softee Baby but this yarn was thicker than the other so its stiffer than the first one I made. Its also not as shinny but it is very pretty. I love crochet pineapple patterns and this dress has them so I like it a lot.

Works in Progress: Tatted Bookmark
This is the first thing I made from my new book Christmas Angels and Other Tatting Patterns by Monica Hahn. It's a little longer than its supposed to be which was not on purpose but I was to lazy to go back a correct it so I kept going and I'm almost done. I like it and the color is very pretty. I used Aunt Lydia's Crochet thread size 10 in coral even though it looks pink on here. It is a very simple pattern and you finish it quickly if you actually take the time but I have been a little lazy and haven't finished. So I will have to finish all by tatting projects I have started and share them finished in another blog.

Finished: Tatted Bookmarks!
Since I'm new to tatting I decided to start small and make bookmarks! There are lots of free patterns to try online so I had a lot to choose from. I started off making one from a book I bought Learn to Tat by Janette Baker. This book teaches you how to shuttle tat but it also has some easy patterns to practice with so I made the bookmark but instead of using the shuttle I used a needle. I used Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread size 10 Burgundy with a size #3-0 needle. The knots are a little loose since this needle size is supposed to be used for size 5 thread. But it was only a practice one. I will probably make another using a size #5-0 needle next time.
The second is the stumpy bookmark created by Kersti. You can find this pattern here. She has a lot of other cool bookmarks on her website that I really want to try. I actually made mine a little longer by making two clovers in the middle instead of one. I used Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread size 10 with a size #5-0 needle using the color Blue Hawaii.

Finished: Baby Bib
This is my first attempt to make a bib. I was looking at free patterns online and found this one. It looks a lot like the ones they sell at stores so I decided to give it a try. I did a simple stockinette pattern with a garter stitch border. All its missing is the button and its done. I plan on making more but with some type of pattern in the middle. If you would like to try this pattern from Bernat it is available here.
I actually tried a new yarn for this project. I used Red Heart Soft Baby Steps Baby Blue. I liked how soft it felt when I bought it but it doesn't feel the same on the bib. I guess I just need to use a bigger size needle since this is medium size 4 yarn which I'm not used to. The only thing about this bib that I didn't like to much was that you have to pick up stitches along the edge in order to have a nice border. Since making this I have found a fellow blogger who has lots of baby bibs with cute patterns and her way of making them is so much simpler but I will talk more about those when I actually get one finished.

Crochet Thread!!
I just went shopping for Crochet Thread!! I love how the Aunt Lydia brand has come out with so many colors now. I remember when I was younger they didn't have so many colors to choose from. I'm glad that they do now. I use these for crocheting obviously but also for tatting. They are all size 10 which is a good size to start with when learning to tat. The only problem I find with these is that they are really big and I can't think of a good way to store them. For now I just keep them in this basket. Any suggestions on good storage ideas please let me know!

Finished: Knitted Baby Shoes!
Again with my obsession of knitted baby items but this time its baby shoes! None of these are completely finished but I thought I would share anyway. The two on the left are for girls. The yellow T-strap shoes in the back probably only need a button. The Mary Janes also need a button but I might also add a flower or bow. The blue ones are for boy even though if I made them in pink they would look good on girls too. They are supposed to be like sneakers so I still need to add the shoe lace and its finished. The multicolored one in the back could also be for boy or girl depending on the color but this one has pink so its also for a girl and all that needs to be finished is a mini pom pom. I used different colors of Bernat Softte Baby for all of these which makes them super soft perfect for babies!

Works in Progress: Baby Dresses
These are two crochet dresses I am working on now. They are from the leaflet Beautiful Baby Boutique by Rebecca Leigh. The one above I started today I used Bernat Softee Baby Pink. The one below I did back in December with Bernat Softee Baby Soft Red. All I need is to add the sleeves and some finishing touches. I really like this leaflet and I'm glad I got it when I did because I haven't seen anymore copies at my local craft store. There are still a couple of dresses that I want to do from this book so I will post some more as soon as I get a chance to do them.
